Communications Training

Training has always been a core part of what we do at Positif. We have designed and delivered training courses for a broad range of organisations in the public, private and third sectors on a range of topics including political communications, online communications, media interviews, presentation skills and public speaking.

Our training is delivered in one of three ways:
Bespoke training specifically tailored to the needs of your individual organisation examining the issues which you want covered. Courses can range from half a day to a full day's training and we can either come to you or you can come to us.
Open courses offering the opportunity for a number of individuals and organisations to come together to learn about a particular topic. We have run courses of this nature on the power of blogging, using social media and political communications in recent years.

Modules for other training events: Our trainers are available to deliver modules for other training providers or as part of skill-raising initiatives at conferences or open days. Training modules have been delivered in Cardiff, London and elsewhere.

Our communications training modules can include:

  • The media in Wales: structure, audience, key people
  • Online communications: using social media, blogs
  • Communication with diverse audiences
  • Effective grass-root campaigning and community involvement
  • Tailored sessions on specific policy contexts e.g. health communications, business media

Our core training team is led by Daran Hill, an experienced media expert and co-founder and editor of Wales Home site. Our other core trainers are Llyr Roberts, a former BBC journalist and tutor in marketing communications at Cardiff University; and Gwilym Morris who specialises in community involvement and supporting communication with diverse audiences. They are joined in turn by leading media and communications experts.
